The Tulsa Arts District — Bob Fleischman of Chrysalis
This week in Downtown Tulsa: How did the Tulsa Arts District become the coolest neighborhood in Tulsa? Ask Bob Fleischman!
Bob has been a champion of the Arts District since before it was the Arts District. In 2006 he and his partner Joel first opened Chrysalis, a salon and spa in the center of the district, and he quickly connected with other local business owners to bring Tulsans to the neighborhood. As president of the Tulsa Arts District Business Association for about 15 years, Bob has helped lead efforts like the First Friday Art Crawl, and he’s provided a platform for businesses to promote each other. In our interview, we talk about how the efforts of these passionate local business owners have ultimately transformed the Arts District into the most popular neighborhood in Downtown Tulsa.
Plus, don’t miss what’s happening downtown this week, including:
- A 500-foot water slide
- A spelling bee
- A free rock jam at Cain’s Ballroom
- A collaborative street art performance
